Hi hi!
I definitely have the camping bug in me this year!
Being outside is so addicting and im really
making the most of it while I can!

My coworker invited me to join her and her
family camping over the weekend!
She was worried if be overwhelmed since she had such a big family. But I told her I don't mind and mostly want to play with my gear!
I debated on taking the bike for moto-camping but I had just
changed my battery and was being impatient!
I would have had to put the seat back on
and tie down my bags.
Taking the car was way faster since I only had to throw my bags in the car and I was already running a little late!
Once I got to the campsite, they were all away at the
beach across the street.
The campground was small but gorgeous and we had a river running
right behind our camp site

I quickly set up my tent and chair.
I put my bags inside my tent and decided
I'll set up my sleeping gear later.

It was time to hit the beach!
It took me a while to find them.
There were a lot of people and a lot of families w

After waiting around for a bit,
She called me back and I found them!
Yay!
Apparently the tide was much lower earlier and everyone
was cut up by razor clams!!

The river from the campsite lets out into the ocean here!

My unaesthetic set up ww![]()
I asked my coworkers 8 year old son of he could teach me how to paddle board, since it was my first time.
He seemed very honored to and I called him Captain.
[I've actually kayaked before tho]
Somehow he ended getting a 5 dollar tip from me
for doing such a good job.
Kidd definitely are good at swindling ww

After hanging out in the water for a few more hours,
it started to get late and the tide came in much higher.

We decided to head back to camp to shower
and start preparing dinner
There was only 2 showers for the whole campground
but it was worth waiting for..
The water was so salty!

My coworker brought hot dogs for dinner
Simple and delicious!
After dinner, the kids all huddled in her tent to tell ghost stories and me and her went to take the dogs for a walk.
We walked the dogs along the beach
and watched the sunset
It was really beautiful
Once we got back we started experimenting with desert
and made a smores pie in a tin.
Wood/charcoal fires were banned due to the fire ban,
so we used her double burner.
They turned out very delicious but
I have no photos ww
I also tried one of my pouch desert meals which was
double chocolate cheesecake.
It mostly tasted like hot chocolate pudding goop but still tasty!

After desert we chatted around our empty fire pit
for a few and got ready for bed.
I put twinkle lights up to impress the kids but all I got was a
"why did you do that?"
Luckily, it's mostly for myself!!!!
Kids are hard to impress now too I guess...

I didn't sleep well.
So far I have never slept well while camping and I wake up almost
every hour tossing and turning.

But my new down sleeping bag I got kept me so cozy.
I'm really happy I switched to down!
Im going to take back my Rei Big Agnes bag.
It was too big and had too many cold spots
My view in the morning was so cool!
I was right up against the Forrest line so I opened up one of my side windows and just looked at nature for a while hearing the river was so peaceful.
After I woke up, I opened my tent to chat with the kids.
My coworker said I looked so
cute and cozy in my tent.
I regret not asking her to take a photo
He is a visual re-creation of what I think I looked like

My coworker made us
Spam friend rice for breakfast!
I think we have telepathy because the work day before, on my way home,
I was thinking how spam friend rice would be
so nice for a camp breakfast.
And later that same night she texted me asking if she should
make spam fried rice for breakfast at camp.
We get along so well~

Since she is Filipino, I trusted any discretion on how much
garlic she used and would eat whatever I am served.

She also used kbbq flavored spam
And of course.. it was delicious!!!!
Thank you!!!
Packing up took quite some time
Packing up such a large tent and trying to wrangle kids is a lot of work. Much respect to her!
After we were all packed up we went ahead to the beach again and hung out for a couple more hours!
The tide was SO LOW!
Now I finally saw all the clams and shells and it was
so difficult to walk across them.
The water was so far out and any trip or misstep meant falling into a landmine of sharp shells.

I saw some Cran and Starfish too!

I only went out to the water two times or so to
collect shells and sand dollars.
It was too tiring to go back and forth
There were also jellyfish in the water..
The other times I just used the nearby
river to cool off my feet.
I worked on my tan!
Once the air was getting way too hot
I decided to pack up and head home.
I'm so grateful to my coworker sharing her trip with me
and I had so so much fun!
Thanks for reading and
see you next time!
