Hi hi!
[ 8.12.25 ]
Another delayed summer post for you but
I have been very excited to post this one!
4th Camping Trip!
My friends Cameo and Maddie wanted to do
a camp to watch a huge meteor shower coming up!
Problem was it was during a weeknight and
I had work the next day...
But why can't camping be on a weeknight?
As long as I get up early enough
and pack everything up right??
...
We went to one of my favorite camp grounds since it
would be easier for me to commute back and forth
and served as a good middle location.
This was the Perseid meteor shower and reported to be at
least 100 shooting stars per hour!
The night before I scoped out the area to make sure the light pollution wasn't too bad and within 10 minutes saw a HUGE fire ball star.
So exciting!
Day of camp!
After work I headed straight to camp!
But on my way home noticed a lot of wild fire smoke now..
that wasn't there the day before.
I was really worried about visibility but pushed onward,
if we missed the stars at least we would
still have each other!![]()
I arrived a little before 6pm!
When I arrived Cameo and Maddie were already set up so I quickly set up my gear so we could go down to the beach
Ta Dah!
The beach was nice and peaceful but the tide came in a lot
so we couldn't walk on the sand.
Still it was gorgeous even with the smoke and we got to
see the moment the sun set behind the mountain together.
So beautiful!
We headed back to camp
and got to cooking!

(And a little drinking w)
Maddie cooked some delicious yakiniku and rice for us!
Dinner was so tasty!

We had such a fun time eating, listening to
yurucamp OST and chatting together.
Once it got completely dark
we headed down to the beach!
There was no one there so we took over one of the
picnic tables to sit and lay on to watch the stars.
We saw so many shooting stars!
Maybe 10 within an hour?
It was so magical and fun to gaze up at the
big universe above with your friends.
We all got excited in unison when
we would see a shooting star!
Sadly, the smoke did cover a good amount of the sky and only left us a window to view, after about an hour and a half the smoke started to close in more so we headed back to our campsite.
We had warabimochi for desert!
First person who sees a shooting star gets the
first bite of Mochi! (me).
I am obsessed.

I prepared my sleeping set up and
got ready for be around 11pm.
Maddie and Cameo stayed up chatting
around our "lamp campfire".
We couldn't have a fire due to the burn bans
but it was so warm I got to sleep with the
rainfly off my tent for the first time!
Laying in my tent looking up at
the night sky was incredible!
And right before I fell asleep I saw a
shooting star right above me.
Uwaaaah~
The next morning I got up around 5am and
quietly packed up my items and tent.

I sort of had a feeling that would happen and had a little bit of a sore throat the next day but it was so worth it.
A night to remember!
Thanks for reading!
